Compensation: Full time salary plus benefits. (Exempt Employee).  Pay varies depending on education and experience.

The Mechanical Designer performs new and revised product design using computer-aided design (CAD) equipment. Prepares completed layouts for final product design from simple sketches. Determines scale, performs complex mathematical calculations, and prepares layouts for detailing. Makes decisions regarding design suitability using knowledge of specified product materials and production processes. Requires thorough knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering terminology, and manufacturing materials. Must be willing to learn how to read electronic schematics and printed circuit board layout and routing.

Education and Experience

Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
ABET Accredited college/university

   
Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test cleanroom environmental monitoring equipment

  • • Design electronic circuits with analog, digital, and optical components
  • • Program microcontrollers
  • • High Level Programming Languages, i.e., C++,  C#
  • • Strong communication, planning, and organization skills
  • • Plans, schedules, and coordinates engineering projects
  • • Preparation of specifications, SOW, and test documentation
  • • Report engineering progress
  • • Create and maintain design documentation
  • • Equipment hardware and software troubleshooting
  • • Collaborate effectively with other members of the design team.

  • • Project management experience (a plus)
  • • 5+ years experience in electronic hardware design (preferred)
  • • Embedded Systems Design
  • • Familiar with MS Visual Studio and WEC 13
  • • Familiar with SOM's and DSP's
  • • Experience in writing design and test documentation
  • • Electronic hardware troubleshooting on both new and legacy designs
  • • Experience in the design of opto-electronics and lasers (preferred)
   
Physical & Other Requirements
  • Must be able to type and use a computer
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs. from the floor to above your head
  • Sitting for extended periods of time required.
