Duties & Responsibilities Job duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Create / maintain a Region Strategic Sales & Marketing Plan
  • Relationship Building - Work with and across formal and informal professional and social networks to build long-term partnerships and connections in the life science industry.
  • Cost Justifiable Solutions - Present key factors, influencing factors, and strategic goals to assist stakeholders in identifying meaningful solutions.
  • Conduct effective presentations with prospects and customers
  • Consult on environmental monitoring best practices
  • Generate leads, qualify prospects, and secure new business opportunities
  • Drive top line revenue growth through professional, consultative, and proactive interactions with emphasis on key decision makers.
  • Manage and provide ongoing training with a small team of Manufacturer's Representatives
  • Obtain and report market intelligence
  • Reporting: weekly call reports, monthly measurement report, expense reimbursements, and annual forecasting
  • ~50% domestic and international travel required
  • Laptop provided. Mileage and/or rental car. All travel expenses reimbursed.

    Required Skills

    The successful incumbent will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, Sales, Microbiology, or Electronics; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to comprehend a technical product line
  • Prior experience selling capital equipment or medical devices
  • Successful sales history
  • 3 to 5 years experience in the life science industry a big plus
  • Presentation skills (PowerPoint experience)
  • Outgoing personality and ability to build long-term relationships with business customers
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Candidates must have a valid drivers license, insurance, and a good driving record
  • Bilingual (Spanish, German, or French) a plus
  • We especially want positive people who can contribute to a positive work environment

     
    The successful incumbent is one who is loyal and willing to make a long-term commitment to managing our customer relationships. As such, we are looking for a history of prior job stability.

    Training Program Comprehensive training program provided and consists of: Basic Electronics, Particle Science, Theory of Operation, Intro to Metrology, Product Knowledge, Competitive Analysis, International Standards, Intro to Microbiology, Cleanroom Best Practices (inert and viable monitoring), Consultative Sales Skills, Presenting and Demonstrating Cost Justifiable Solutions, and Sales Management.  Incumbent will be required to spend at least one week in Redlands, CA for training.
       
    Physical & Other Requirements
    • • Must be able to type.
    • • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to above your head
    • • Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time required.

    Wage verification, education verification, basic English and Math pre-employment test.  The successful candidate must also pass a physical and a drug test as condition for continued employment, proof of automobile insurance and a good driving record is required.
